Description: | The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes: | Context 5369 is modern backfill from the 1960's excavations. It was identified after much discussion by the brilliant suggestion of Pickman Thanesis Notis. His suggestion as confirmed by the demonstration that there is a hole under the deposit, deep enough for a free shovel handle (1.5m) which corresponds to a well drawn in room ( ) on the plan . The backfill is being removed to see what is below it. Scarp? Cut of deposit under 5368 and the Wall 5360. Pottery not read.
