Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We opened 5413 as a separate context just in case, although we determined that 5412 was most likely the same deposit as 5413 and not its foundation trench as previously speculated. A putative foundation trench had also been identified before digging on the furthest S section of the context, against wall 58. We will further explore this upon removal of this context.
In the center of the context, we came down upon a harder surface. In the NE of the context we came down on flat lying tiles and large cobbles. After further digging we realized that some of the tiles were at a slight angle. In the northern scarp, this tile and stone debris is visible and appears to go down another 0.50 m or so. It was determined that there was no foundation trench on the S side next to Wall 58.
We removed many large fragment of pottery from this context.
