| Notes: | We began this context in order to explore a layer of ash that we perceived running some 3 m along Wall 58. However, the excavation of the ashy fill in the W corner (near the junctions of the N-S wall and Wall 58 revealed the edges and sides of a small pit. We dug the deposit within separately and will dig the rest of the ash layer next (5469). The hard surface found underneath appears to be a floor. This same floor appears to be the one contemporary with the tile built pithos and pit 3480. The pit contained a very small amount of pottery. A water test sample revealed that this ash was comprised entirely of tiny pieces of charcoal. The floor 5528 found S and E of the pithos cut dissipated in the direction of this pit and it is unclear whether this pit cut this floor. It appears to at least cut this floor in the E, but the area W of the cut belonged to context 5531, or the fill underneath floor 5528, which was exposed in this area.
