Notes:   Deposit 569 is the cleaning of the area directly west of the clay floor associated with the north-south wall 540 and east of the north-south drain 426. The cleaning basket was opened as an attempt to clarify the relationship between the deposits in this area by scraping was producing cultural material. It is clear that the drain cuts through a red pebbly floor, which in turn is deposited on a lens of roof tile and cobbles. The cobbles and tile are on top of a gray pebbly surface. This corresponds to the sequence visible on the west side of the drain. It is also noted that the drain cut is most visible along its east face. Also scraping revealed the edge of a cut for the robbing out of the southernmost block in the pier that marks the westward limit of the red clay floor that extends westward from wall 540. The southern edge of the foundation trench for that feature is also visible.
