Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark brownish black. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Deposit 5829 is a small ashy pit fill that appears to be lying on top of our pebbly surface. A 2L onsite water sieving sample revealed many small chunks of charcoal but no botanicals. It was darker than the soil of 5828 on top of it and the cement patch 5827, and had very few inclusions. The amount of carbon in the fill of the shallow pit 5831 made the deposit almost black in places and stained the pebble floor below.
