Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We are opening this area to get down to the same levels (10-11th c.) as we are at on the east side of wall 5483, although we will probably not reach this level by the end of the season. We area leaving a martyr where the floor meets wall 5485 and 5490 on the west side. This is the highest and latest floor level running under wall 5485 and probably over to wall 5284. This would make it the latest floor in association with the room bounded by walls 5519, 5483, 5484, and 5284. Above this floor appears to be about 0.15 m of leveling fill pedestaling wall 5485 (see notes with floor 5606 for full explanation). This context revealed soft darker dirt (5483) overlying a hard layer beneath it (5853), and a third, softer layer in the southern part of the room. We will dig 5843 next.
