The soil color is very dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt. | | Notes: | | Dumped deposit 585 is a chunky tiley lens deposited north of the pier 573 and it truncated to the north by the trench for the 19th c boundary wall (cut 272). There is also a small pit cut through the deposit (586) which may be a dog hole. The removal of this deposit revealed a lime plaster surface, likely related to building activity and the mixing of cement.
