Notes:   Structure 5864 is a well at the west end of the drain in the courtyard of the 1961 Byzantine house. A wellhead was taken off in the 1960s excavation. 5864 is a limestone lined drain where large blocks are cut down to fit the oval shape. There is rubble fill inbetween the courses. Any evidence for mortar no longer exists. Footholds alternate down inside the well, with four on the south side and a corresponding foothold (?) on the north just below the first course of stones. The stone courses extend down for 1.67m and then the well opens up into a rectangular chamber. The total depth is 3.18m deep. To the northwest of this rectangular shaft is a door into another small room. The passageway continues to the southwest from the main shaft toward a cistern.
