Stratum:   45% fine-coarse pebbles, some roof tile, cobbles some roof tile
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the N. The soil color is light yellowish red. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Deposit 588 is a lens of chunky cobbly fill deposited to the East of the pier 573 and running along its extent. The function of the deposit is unclear, but it removal revealed the eastern portion of the foundation trench for the pier 573 as well as a little bit more of the plaster construction surface.
