Stratum:   Ceramics, bone, some charcoal; medium to large sub-rounded pebbles, medium sub-rounded pebbles; 40% inclusions
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   Context 6145 seems to be a continuation of context 6129, which produced a very large amount of whiteware. We continued to find a dense assemblage of whiteware, and we are sieving the entire context, as well as taking one test sample for water flotation. Context 6145 lies along the northern wall (5562) in the room NW of the courtyard.
A large quantity of bone was also found. What appears to be a bronze lid (263.80, 1038.66, 84.50) was found embedded against the north wall.
Due to the inordinately large amount of whiteware we expressed doubts that this context is a leveling fill, but Thanasis seems certain this is not a floor.
Much of the pottery was found embedded against wall 5562, but also spread over the entire context. Thanasis exposed a floor underneath this context which appears at this point to cover the entire exposed area of this room.
A coin (2009-53) was recovered from the dry sieve. The pottery assemblage stops ca. 15cm from the east wall.
We have kept a small martyr around later well 5876 to avoid contamination with these earlier levels.
The pottery concentration of whitr ware was less dense as we moved south in the room. Thus the greatest concentration was between E263-264.5 and N1037.5-1038.7.
Coin 2009-54 was also recovered from the dry sieve.
Coin 2009-55 was scraped off bottom of context 6145.
