Stratum:   60% rooftiles, cobbles, fine-coarse subrounded and angular pebbles, pottery, bone
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Deposit context 626 is a lens of cobbly fill west of drain 426 and east of scarp 255.5 E. This context is distinguished by its large cobbles and roof tiles. This deposit was cut by wall 272 to the north, but this context does not continue on the other side of the wall cut 272 (to the north).
This context was distinguished from other contexts around it by its high percentage of large inclusions. The removal of context 626 has revealed a second layer of fill, as well as a pit cut at the north edge of the deposit.
During our excavation of 626, we swept material from this deposit immediately to the south of this context (626) before collecting and sieving it. Because of this, material from context 631, the context upon which 626 was swept and from which 626 was shoveled into zembles, may be included in the material from context 626. If 631 is actually underdigging of context 456, then it is possible that 626 is contaminated with later material.
