Description:   Top slope of the context is uneven. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is coarse sand.
Notes:   Context 6815 is a stratum of loose fill revealed by the removal of NS wall 5561. We are excavating 6815 in order to clarify the nature of the stones that continue NS under wall 5561 and might represent an earlier phase of wall 5561.
The soil of 6815 is loose, yellowish/reddish brown in color, and contains ca. 15% inclusions of small rocks, tile, pottery, small flecks of calcium carbonate, and some bone. As we excavate 6815, a few more stones have been revealed -- they continue in a North-South line and are possibly an earlier phase of NS wall 5561 and a different, older, NS wall. These stones have been revealed in the Southern area of context 2815; in the Northern area, we have come down on a loose fill with ca. 30% inclusions of tile, small rocks, and pottery. This fill seems to continue to the West, underneath the compact external floor surface (just to the North of bothros 5595; external floor = 6819). The NS wall underneath wall 5561 might continue futher North and was robbed out or destroyed, or it might terminate here.
