Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light brownish grey. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is well sorted. It is silty clay.
Notes:   This thin ashy layer disappeared under the southern wall, as had 6949. On excavation, it revealed a constant dark reddish brown layer with far fewer ceramic inclusions than the layer above it. Its upper profile sloped to the NE, but the base was level, suggesting that this may represent the lowest level of dumping fill.
Synchronisation error caused loss of pottery data once already read; retyped from a print screen, but some details perhaps lost.
