The soil color is light brownish grey. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is well sorted. It is silty clay. | | Notes: | | This thin ashy layer disappeared under the southern wall, as had 6949. On excavation, it revealed a constant dark reddish brown layer with far fewer ceramic inclusions than the layer above it. Its upper profile sloped to the NE, but the base was level, suggesting that this may represent the lowest level of dumping fill.
