Description:   Structure materials: subrounded limestone and squared blocks. Material size: subrounded: 0.25 X 0.18 X 0.08. Material finish: mixed: roughly hewn with a few squared. Material construction: random courses: Western quoin stressed. Material bonding: None.
Notes:   This is the second phase of the South wall in Room F, East half (the pithos room). It underlies phase 3 (5335) nd to the West underlies the large square block from phase 4 (5334). It is constructed of undressed limestone fragments (some are clearly broken up ashar blocks with a fragment of dressed surface). Although in the East, wher the wall interfaces with wall 5345 dressed square ashars are used. The top course of this phase is tile, likely placed to level the foundation used in the next phase (5335). The construcion trench for this phase (7126 and 7163) is contiguous with that for wall 5345. This trench is "L" shaped and one large dressed block was placed to create a bonded interface (although it is perhaps possible that since these blocks are squared and dressed that they go with the ensuing phas 5335 but this does not seem likely for two reasons: 1) this phases undressed subrounded blocks extend over most of the dressed square blocks assigned to this phase and 2) the elevation of the discovered foundation trench suggests both the undressed and dressed blocks to belong to the same event).
This phase (7249) rests upon the lower phase of this wall (7250) using it for foundation. It is difficult to discern a difference between these two phases except by width (7250 juts North into the room and additional 0.17 - 0.25 m). However, the phasing of the walls to the East and West (see description of 7250) demonstrate the necessity for identifying two consruction events. This wall (7249) is clearly later than 7145 to the East since 7145 is truncated but 7145 is clearly later and overlying 7250. Such an interpretation justifies the existence of two phases despite the diffuse difference in construction.
