| Notes: | 9.5.2012 This context was partially overlaid by 774 and was called at the end of the day. 10.5.2012 This morning, we continued to investigate 797. Lime is present in small concentrations. Thanasis began to distinguish the cut between fill 797 to the north and what was called 775 just to the south, the fill of the robbing trench for the e-w wall. While 797 is consistently black, 775 appears more red. The southern edge of 797 was also marked by these bits of lime, which seemingly caused Thanasis to stop digging on that southern extent. This lime will probably be present in larger quantities in 775 once that context is excavated. 797 appears to come down on a reddish packed layer which slopes down to the north and west. | |
