Description:   The soil color is brown. The soil compaction is soft.
Notes:   This rectangular pit is cut into the bedrock. The pit itself was likely truncated by the construction of the W wall of Room C and wall 44. The fill of the pit, like that of 255, cuts through the possible FT on the N side of wall 44. Once this fill (context 256) is removed, the drafting line for the stoa walls was revealed. This context is therefore later than the construction of wall 44, but the cut pit predates the stoa.
