Description:   The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty clay.
Notes:   This is a continuation of 250, but we changed baskest just in case even though there was no change in deposit was noted. This context, then, consists of the removal of the deposit N and S of the 'cut' identified as 250. Bones continue/run from 250 to 260, further strengthening the argument that the two are the same deposit, or at least so heavily disturbed that no boundary can any longer be seen and only the cluster of bones in 251 suggests a burial event separate from the rest of the burials.
June 19: With James it was decided that the strip N of the original cut should excavated as part of this context, while the strip S should be given its own context number. Furthermore, on excavation it became obvious that the cut does not extend for the full bedrock cut instead, there is a 'pedestal' running along the N edge about 20-30cm in width and reaching from the NE corner to only 30cm short of the NW corner (excavated as 266).
June 23 (L. Kennedy): the bones from this context (excavated and recorded as skel 261) are provisionally assumed to be disturbed material from grave 2015-12 and are being kept with the bone lot 2015-19a, though material excavated in separate contexts will be stored separately within the bone lot.
