Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark brownish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   While excavating 370, when we reached what we had thought to be the base of the east foundation trench (322), we found ath the trench actually goes deeper. Guy said that we should leave 370 open and open 372 to further excavate the fill of the foundation trench, then return to 370, since 370 is cut by the trench. We closed 372 at the top of the bottom course of the east foundation because it was becoming difficult for Coastas to dig any deeper in the narrow trench. Once we have removed more of the soil making up the side of the trench, we will open another context for the remainder of the fill in 322.
Mudbrick came both from the north foundation trench, which Broneer dug, and the east trench, which he did not.
