Corinth Basket: South Stoa, context 410 Collection: | | Corinth | Type: | | Basket | Name: | | South Stoa, context 410 | Area: | | South Stoa | Context Type: | | cut | Title: | | Cut for Western Pit E of Well | Notebook: | | 1110 | Context: | | 410 | Date: | | 2016/04/16 | Description: | | The context shape in plan is circular. The top break of the cut is sharp. The sides of the cut are vertical. The break at the base of the cut is sharp. The base of the cut is flat. | Notes: | | This is the cut for the westernmost of the two small pits immediately to the East of the well in Room 4 Front. It is circular in shape and 0.16-17 in diameter. Its fill did not produce anything indicative of its formation or use, but the evident axiality of this pit with Cut 409 and their proximity to Cut 408 and the well suggests that they had something to do with the well, perhaps being cuttings (or impressions) for the bucket-handling equipment. | Grid: | | 337.6-337.4E, 1089.7-1089.9N | XMin: | | 337.4 | XMax: | | 337.6 | YMin: | | 1089.7 | YMax: | | 1089.9 | Site: | | Corinth | City: | | Ancient Corinth | Country: | | Greece | Masl: | | 81.35-81.42m. |
