Description:   The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is well sorted. It is sandy clay.
Notes:   19/4/16
We begin to remove the red clay deposit in the northern center of the room into which pits 376 and 383 had been cut. The matrix is quite uniform in content and diversify. There is a low concentration of pottery. There is a very small amount of carbon in the soil. The pottery contains prehistoric and some historic (presumably Hellenistic) sherds. This and the presence of the coin indicate that this is another mixed fill, probably deposited in a Hellenistic construction phase.
The first pass ends at a consolidated surface level. Unclear at this point whether this is an anthropogenic creation or not. If a floor/surface, there is no deposit on it and the floor is a very similar make up to the fill above.
