Notes:   This structure is the original Greek wall E- W cross wall of shop VII. The blocks are roughly hewn limestone, ashlar masonry. The rubble martyr left from the excavation of context 28 directly abutts the east, north, and south side
29-05-15: Average block dimensions: 1.22 x 0.75 x 0.50
After further excavation we were able to uncover the lower course of wall 44 in the eastern part of room c. It continues below wall 18. As with wall 38, the lower course is wider than the course above by about 0.10 cm.
There is a large, square block located at the intersection of walls 38 and 44 (1.70 x 1.24 m). This suggests that the planning and construction of the original south stoa was careful and deliberate. There is another large square block at the E edge of this wall in shop VI, though it continues below wall 18. This block, however, is longer than the block at the intersection of walls 38 and 44. The northern edge runs under the soil to the north in the NE quadrant, but the visible extent is 1.77m.
The only FT excavated for this was context 65 to the south, but as with wall 38, identifying them was difficult because the soil flanking them was so compacted.
