Notes:   This cut was recognized while excavating context 46. A large stone was embedded vertically within the cut fill, as well as a soil change. 46 revealed a compact floor surface, and the fill was compact with 20% cobbles and small to large limestone chunks, This cut into the floor below 46 as well as 35. The fill of this cut will determine when the Roman period renovations were made.
On the East side of the cut a martyt was left before excavating cut 66 and its fill 37. At the base of this cut, just as with 66, there is a course of the Greek wall 44. The fill of this cut was dug in two parts, 54 and 60. See deposit form 54 for more info.
