The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is well sorted. It is silty clay. | | Notes: | | Based on surface measurements prior to excavation, deposit measured 226cm L. by 91cm W. Excavation conducted to understand the depositional order of several contexts that became visible during scraping and cleaning of the unpaved area NE of the paved courtyard in unit 1. During the scraping, 3 deposits appeared on the surface - 1079 (marl deposit on SE edge of unpaved courtyard), 1080 (marl deposit in center and west area of unpaved courtyard), and 1076 (pit fill). 1076 was removed and floor of pit showed several white and red deposits in the cut. It was then determined that 1079 should be excavated in order to understand the various different deposits in the unpaved courtyard. Once 1079 was removed, a slightly darker, more reddish grey floor became visible underneath. Floor 1079 does not continue under paved courtyard to south of unit 1.
