Date:   2014/04/25
Stratum:   40% large angular cobbles; small to large angular pebbles; ceramics and tiles; rare small boulders
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is dark brownish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   In the northwest corner of our sectioned area was a small surface (about 1.0x0.70 meters) that was hard packed but appeared different than the surrounding ashy clay surface; both were revealed by Deposit 163. It is bounded to the west by our section; to the north by the martyr for the wall consolidatoin.
It appeared to slope in the east but the removal of Deposit 163 made it appear to have a clear cut but this was the result of tracing the boundary that had a vertical stone within it and the overdigging of Deposit 163.
It revealed a nard patch of reddish borwn soil to the north and a possible pit filled with soft brownish black soil. The edge of the surface revealed by Deposit 173 was also further revealed and delinated.
