Material size: hewn .40x.50, unworked .12x.20, tile 0.01-2x.20. Material finish: mixed: lg. rough hewn blocks w/ sm. Unworked stone. Material construction: orthostates w. irreg. courses of stone & tile btwn. Material bonding: cement. Features: interrupted by threshold (Structure 22). | Notes: | | This wall formed the W boundary of the church nave, separating it from the narthex. It is interrupted by the threshold (Structure 22), which appears to be a later addition to the original wall, which we believe had an earlier threshold at a lower elevation. Excavation has not extended deep enough inside the church to reveal the bottom of the wall or any associated foundation trenches, and the earlier threshold also remains hypothetical at this point. This wall is bonded at its N end with Wall 20, which is of similar construction and we presume is contemporary. | Grid: | | 123.52-121.98E, 1067.99-1074.44N | XMin: | | 121.98 | XMax: | | 123.52 | YMin: | | 1067.99 | YMax: | | 1074.44 | Site: | | Corinth | City: | | Ancient Corinth | Country: | | Greece | Masl: | | 85.99m. |
