Type:   Basket
Name:   Temple E, Southeast, context 225
Area:   Temple E, Southeast
Title:   Levelling fill, room 7
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1108
Context:   225
Date:   2014/05/08
Stratum:   30-40% inclusions, primarily comprised of small pebbles, with some pottery and bone.
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty clay.
Notes:   During the excavation of context 222, an inclusion rich layer of fill abutting the northern edge of the trench (the martyr), and the W. WC 59, three hard-packed layers that appeared to have been working surfaces or very rough floors were uncovered. One, a thin hard layer of clay, runs along WC 59 and appears to be truncated at N. 1082.6, E: 120.3, adjacent to the start of the robbed out portion of the wall (context 192). The other two potential floor layers extend across the width of room 7. Context 225 overlays context 230, and so was removed first. Upon excavation, it was found to have a thin crust, hard on the surfaced but comprised of fine, soft silt. The deposit did not continue all the way south, but appeared to abut a harder, clayier surface (most of which was uncovered in the excavation of context 214), along an irrecgular line, measured at N 1080.40 E 123.40, N 1080.40 E 122.60, N 1080.90 E 121.30, N 1081.30 E 120.40.
