Title:   Limey pit fill below tile floor in room A
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1108
Context:   420
Date:   2014/06/03
Stratum:   silt mised with lime
Description:   The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is compact. It is mixed- see description.
Notes:   This pit fill fell under the tile flooring along the westmost edge of the section. The contents were very limey and compacted by the inclusion of this bonding material. Removal of this pit fill exposed a harder, reddish layer which also extends below a blackened surface which extends over much of the exposed section. The red matric may be a sign of burning and the blackened layer will be removed next. It is possible that the limey pit fill reflects the mixing of the lime plaster that was skimmed over the fill below the tile floor (context 419).
