Notes:   This wall defines the eastern limit of Room 6 of Unit II. It is preserved in two segments, separated by 5.22 meters. The N segment is 1.97m in length and 0.62m wide, while the S segment is 1.35m in length by 0.58m wide. In neither segment has the bottom of the wall been securely reached. The majority of the wall's length has been robbed out (perhaps 18th c. at S, though 16th/15th c. further to N, see NB 854, p. 47) and is defined by a robbing trench. Contexts associated with the robbing trench are as follows: NB 850 B34, B87, B91, B92; NB 854 B12.
This wall was initially revealed in 1992. Its early excavation is discussed in NB 850 and NB 854. Particularly useful is NB 854 p. 5, 47-49. Its S section was revealed under NB 850 B34 and recognized as a wall during the excavation of B87 in the same notebook.
No further excavation took place in this area during the first session of the 2014 season.
The tentative date for the wall given by NB 854 p.5 is "at least Frankish."
