Date:   2015/04/24
Stratum:   Large cobbles, large pile piece,s pieces of charcoal, pottery. 70%
Description:   Top slope of the context is moderate down to the S. The soil color is very dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is weakly cemented. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is clayey sand.
Notes:   A very densely-filled deposit with large cobbles and tiles, medium angular pebbles, large pieces of pottery, pebbles of smaller sizes, bones, and small pieces of charcoal. The deposit covers the E-W span of the room in the norther section (the area under excavation). Two coins, found in the sieve . The dumped fill may have been brought in from another area and therefore may be earlier in date than the context and space it fills. The excavation of 620 spanned two days (Fri. 24th and Mon. 27th). Under 620, in the NE, was a patch of earthern surface, which will be excavated next. 620 appeasr to have been a leveling fill, c. 0.28 m deep in areas. The removal of 620 revealed the bottom of the orthostate in Wall 556, which rests on another large block, and geotetxtiles under the reconstructed portions of wall 556, which continue still to a lower depth. Excavated over the course of two days: 24th and 27th.
