Description:   The soil color is dark yellowish grey. The soil compaction is stongly cemented. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clay.
Notes:   Excavation began the morning of 18/6. As before, the beginning of this context is largely arbitrary; soil hasn’t changed since 893 yesterday. Number of inclusions continues to decrease as we go down; less charcoal, fewer large pieces of pottery, more chunks of clay, large rocks (c. 10-20cm). Sample for flotation taken from SW area of the context, towards the bottom, but comprising soil mixed from all over the context.
Towards the bottom of the context, soil begins to have a reddish hue alongside yellow. After bookman, we switched to a new context and took flotation sample.
The interior circumference of the well is gradually expanding as we dig deeper; therefore, even though this context removed a similar amount of soil as the previous contexts, it didn't result in such a large change in elevation.
