Context:   949
Date:   2016/05/11
Description:   The context shape in plan is rectrangular. The top break of the cut is sharp. The sides of the cut are vertical. The break at the base of the cut is sharp. The base of the cut is flat. Truncation: Excavation in the area of the apse has truncated the cut on the east side and NE corner..
Notes:   This cut was made to dig out the foundation trench for the altar base (931) west of the pase of the church. This is the later cut of two. The earlier cut (951) is located ca. 5cm down from this cut. It is likely that the earlier cut was a mistake by those installing the base. They thus made the foundation trench larger with this later cut.
