Description:   Attic red-figure krater withs teep body having slight concave flare - rim in two degrees: lower outward thickened with compound curve, upper horizontal half-round lip sharply articulated on interior.
Decoration:   Interior black glazed, reserved stripe on upper body and interior lip. Exterior in red-figure; figured zone on body; reserved band on underside lower and upper members of rim; lotus-palmette chain on lower rim, upper glazed. Figure zone-upper halves of five figures, l. to r., bearded man profile to r., wearing fillet, facing Athena, body frontal, head to l. wearing Aegis, stephane, r. hand raised, l. hand holding stagg; youth wearing chlamys and petasos, body frontal, head to r., left arm outstretched behind next figure (?), right hand down (?) holding long narrow object across body; woman wearing chiton himation, fillet, body frontal, head to l., r. hand raised to fillet, left holding out drapery, far r., bearded man in profile to l., wearing himation, h. hand holding staff, r.raised upwards. Material:   Fine, hard-fired well-compacted clay with very few scattered light inclusions, fired pinkish buff.

Condition:   Missing parts. Eleven joining frgts., one of which was added in 1979, preserving upper half body, ca. one-third circumference.
