Description:   Chafing dish with straight flaring body, inturned rim offset by protruding ledge on interior, rounded lip. Broken off below at juncture with stand. Start of vertical strap handle. Similar to C-1936-426 (Morgan 1942, Corinth 11, cat. 6).
Decoration:   Brown glaze on interior. Below rim on exterior, drips of glaze and three shallow grooves.
Material:   Coarse light red clay with small to large rounded spherical and tabular frequent white and few gray inclusions. Common small and medium angular platy and tabular and rounded spherical voids.
Munsell Color:   2.5YR 6/8 (light red)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving small part of upper body to lip, stump of handle.
Period:   Late Byzantine (1059-1210 AD)
