Description:   Bowl with wide flaring body, ca. 25 degrees, turning up vertically to tapered lip.
Decoration:   Interior: pale yellow glaze and light slip; band of spiral patterns within two parallel semi-circle lines, edge of second band below. Similar to C-1934-620 (Morgan 1942, Corinth 11, cat. 748). On original inventory book, "imitation lustre ware".
Material:   Fine red clay with few small to large rounded and subrounded white and gray inclusions. Frequent rounded spherical and angular platy voids.
Munsell Color:   5 YR 5/6 (yellowish red)
Condition:   Fragment. Two joining frgts., preserving small part of rim and approx. 1/4 of body.
Manufacture:   C80
Period:   Late Byzantine (1059-1210 AD)
Chronology:   12th century; based on comparanda.
