Decoration: | Incised decoration, interior: almost all of floor taken up by lion standing to rt., head turned back; missing hindquarters. Head, neck reserved with scales; body, legs incised. Protruding tongue. Floral lspikes, alternately incised and sgraffito, in field. Band of decadent Kufic on incised ground at edge of floor, interrupted by 3 small medallions with rectilinear split-palmettes. Slip and light green glaze over all, thinly applied to exterior. | |
