Description:   Plate with broad rudimentary foot, nearly horizontal body, thick vertical upturned rim, blunt lip. Floor convex in center.
Decoration:   Incised decoration, interior: almost all of floor taken up by lion standing to rt., head turned back; missing hindquarters. Head, neck reserved with scales; body, legs incised. Protruding tongue. Floral lspikes, alternately incised and sgraffito, in field. Band of decadent Kufic on incised ground at edge of floor, interrupted by 3 small medallions with rectilinear split-palmettes. Slip and light green glaze over all, thinly applied to exterior.
Material:   Fine reddish clay.
Condition:   Complete profile. Ca. 18 joining frgts., complete profile. Missing 1/4 or less of floor, 1/4 of rim in two sections.
