Description:   Platter with flaring ring foot, rounded resting surface, flat undersurface. Body flaring at ca. 15-20 degrees with slight convex curve, to oblique, inward thickened rim, triangular in section, with vertical lip. Band above foot on exterior trimmed so that inclusions show.
Decoration:   White slip inside. Covering most of interior, large medallion with large lion pouncing on deer, both facing rt. Of lion have back half, body covered with small incised chevrons, arched tail. Of deer have all but head; body covered with rows of scribbles. Floral sprays in field. Double framing line. Surrounded by broad band of pointed interlace on imbricate ground. Pale yellow glaze over all, making exterior dark red-brown.
Material:   Moderately coarse tan clay with moderate amount of coarse lime and red mudstone inclusions, voids.

Condition:   Complete profile. Ten joining frgts., complete profile; 3/5 platter, missing nearly half floor, small parts of rim.
