Description:   Byzantine brown-glazed chafing dish or cup (?) with shallow body, conical stand or stem, inward thickened rim, rounded lip; rim offset on interior by ledge. Similar to C-1934-479 (Morgan 1942, Corinth 11, cat. 5).
Decoration:   Greenish-brown glaze on exterior, and glaze on interior rim.
Material:   Light brown clay blackened in firing, with few small and medium rounded spherical white and gray inclusions, and frequent rounded spherical and angular platy voids.
Munsell Color:   Near 7.5 YR 6/4 (light brown)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving small part of body and stand, approx. 1/4 rim. Traces of glaze on interior rim.
Period:   Middle Byzantine (802-1058 AD)
