Description:   Shallow bowl with narrow, slightly convex rim and rounded lip; high inverted conical stand flaring out slightly at lower edge; floor of coal compartment set quite high within stand.
Decoration:   Exterior: 8 arching vertical ridges divide stand; within these surface decorated with narrow indented wedges shaped like rosettes, between arches and lip-like fans; a few rectangular perforations opening into coal compartment and space below it; interior: coarse incised zigzag around bowl center. Bright yellow-brown glaze.
Material:   Coarse red clay.
Condition:   Fragment. Seven non-joining frgts., reconstituted in plaster into one whole vase.
