Description:   Kantharos with ovoid body constricting to flaring tapered lip, vertical strap handles attached below lip and at maximum diameter. Similar to C-53-231 (Corinth VII. iii no. 456).
Decoration:   Black glaze over all interior and exterior, thin line incised through the glaze defines lower limit of handle zone, necklace design in handle zone immediately below lip, with incised string and pendants in applied paint.
Material:   Fine reddish yellow clay with rare medium rounded spherical lime and dark red inclusions.
Munsell Color:   Between 7.5YR 8/4 and 10YR 8/4
Condition:   Fragment. Ten joining frgts., 1/2 body, 3/4 rim, lower attachment of one of the handles. Glaze well-preserved.
