Decoration: | Alternating(?) pattern of relief rosettes and faces (drama masks?) adorn exterior of rim. Fine wheel-ridging on exterior of foot undersurface, body, and rim, and on interior of body and of rim. Double incised lines encircle stamp, a broad rouletted band between center and edge of floor. Red slip all over. Mask similar to C. Abadie-Reynal "La Ceramique Romaine d'Argos," 2007, Athens, pl. 8 no. 53.1 (date: 30/35-85 AD, p. 32). | |
Writing: | stamp. Plantaform stamp at center of plate with letters LRASGER. Same letters found on C-1970-376 (from Oakley House). | |
Material: | Fine weak red clay with no visible inclusions and few, small, angular, platy voids. | |
