Obverse: IC - XC; Christ, bearded and nimbate, wearing tunic and kolobion, seated upon throne without back; holds Gospels in l. hand. Asterisk above cushion of throne, to either side.
Reverse: Half-length figure of emperor wearing stemma divitision, collar-piece, and paneled loros of simplified type; holds in r. hand scepter cruciger, and in l. globus cruciger.
