Title:   LAMP BRONEER TYPE XXII WITH PEGASOS

Description:   Broneer Type XXII lamp with narrow rim and large, concave discus. Sides slope inward sharply. One fill hole below the figural representation.
Decoration:   Slip is dark reddish-orange. Rim has three grooves. Within discus, figure of winged Pegasos faces to the right. In front, tree growing from a vase. Behind Pegasos is a rectangular shield (?) and above, a round one. Behind Pegasos, the lower four feet of another, smaller horse are preserved. Cf. Loeschke, Lampen aus Vindonissa, no. 199, pl. XVI.

Material:   soft buff clay with few small black inclusions
Munsell Color:   2.5 Y 7/4 (pale yellow)
Condition:   Fragment. Six joining fragments preserve three-fourths of the disk and a small part of the rim. Slip, on exterior and partially on interior, is largely worn.
