Description:   Mouldmade lamp (Type XXVIII) with concave bottom defined by groove, convex body, wide rim, concave disk with two fill holes, vertical lug handle. Groove below handle is off-axis.
Decoration:   Rim: tiny row of impressed ovules framing disk, panel in center of each side. Small partial groove preserved on foot. In discus, a gladiatorial scene: retiarius on left facing right, crouching with right arm lowered. On right, secutor faces left, with helmet and armor. Ground line between the two figures.
Similar to L-2654, L-69-71, L-71-100, L-81-18, L-99-08, L-2007-3.
Material:   gritty clay with few small and medium white, gray, and black inclusions
Munsell Color:   2.5 YR 5/4 (reddish brown)
Condition:   Missing parts. Intact (mended from five fragments) except for nozzle, which is missing. One half of wick hole preserved. Traces of burning around wick hole. Unglazed.
