Description: | Lamp with flat bottom offset by groove, squat nearly biconical body with rounded profile, curving in to concave disk that is raised above surrounding body, articulated nozzle with flat panel surrounding wick hole. Handle is a variation on the lug, consisting of a large spool with 5 reels, flat sides, that curves down toward base, with grooves between reels curving down around bottom. Mould joint visible at max. diam. of body. | |
Decoration: | Groove surrounding bottom; pairs of iincised lines framing nozzle on underside. Dark brown-black to red-brown to light red, slightly metallic glaze over all. | |
Material: | Highly micaceous clay fired light red to dark brown. | |
