Description: | Mouldmade terracotta figurine of squatting male figure playing double flutes or double pipes. Body grotesque. Shoulders narrow and sloping. Arms tight to side, bent across upper abdomen, with hands holding one segment each of pipes. Elbows rest on knees. Complete set of male genitals rests on ground. Entire figure rests on low circular base, which is painted black. Body and pipes of figurine painted red; beard painted black. Back of figurine unmodelled but rounded. Figurine hollow through neck. Likely from same mould as MF-1034; KT22-4. | |
