Description:   Terracotta solid handmade group of six dancers moving in circle with arms joined around central figure (flutist). One dancer has wide puffy strip of clay applied around front of head as polos, clay overfold from back to front as head, semi-circular face. Each dancer has broad short neck, flattened chest, wide flattened strips as arms reaching out slightly twisting. All figures have body oval in section flaring into pinched splayed feet, three with very distinctive feet and one with added clay at around back of feet, attaching to base. Flat circular base with edge smoothed. Fingerprints on base. Similar to MF-11510 and KT2-7, 8, 9, 10 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 4-7 pl. 4).

Material:   Fine reddish yellow clay with reddish yellow core with few fine sparkling, few small to very large tabular angular white inclusions and rare small platy angular and small spherical rounded voids
Munsell Color:   Surface: 5YR 7/8 (reddish yellow) and 7.5YR 7/6 (reddish yellow) , Core: 7.5YR 7/6 (reddish yellow)
Condition:   Fragment. Several joining pieces (1 dancer joined from Lot 864 in 2007) preserving 4 dancers, 1 from head to base, 2 from neck to base 1 w/ lt arm, other w/ both arms, 1 from waist to base, stump of flutist, most of base. Base RIP. Discolored. Slightly incrusted.
