Description: | Cylindrical painted glass bottle. Very similar to MF-6772 (Davidson 1952, Corinth 12, cat. 750) except bands encircling medallion (MF-6772 bands green-red-red-green; here gold-green-green-gold here). | |
Decoration: | Cold-painted decoration: Golden bird facing left with beak, eyes, and head plumage indictaed by lines incised in the gold paint. Conventionalized gold branches with yellow-green leaves fill the field in the medallion. Gold band of medallion encircled by a double yellow-green band, above which gold band with scroll work. | |
Material: | Opaque dark blue glass with few very small bubbles. | |
Condition: | Fragment. Single frgt., broken all around and preserving no edges. Paint fairly well preserved. | |
