Description: | Terracotta female figurine, wearing a triangular cap, pointed high in the back, with pointed top and flaring sides in front framing the face. Front part of cap extends out horizontally at chin level on right side. Hair frames face down to ears, appearing as two rows of oval-shaped pellets in the better-preserved areas. Face is long and oval with a long, pointed nose connected in profile to brow ridge. Thick, long neck. Cap similar to MF 1168 (Corinth XII, p. 33, no. 134, pl. 9). | |
Decoration: | White slip all over. Blue paint preserved on front part of cap where it frames the head; traces of brown paint on hair, and eyebrows, eyes, and mouth drawn in black paint. | |
Material: | Fine reddish yellow clay with rare fine to small mudstone, rare fine black and sparkling inclusions. | |
