Description:   Cyma reversa type. Hollow rectangular portable altar with plain back, side panels with decoration in relief, cyma reversa crowning moulding, and flat top with recessed ring at center. Cyma reversa decorated with Lesbian leaf and dart pattern in relief. Ring located 0.034 from front, 0.043 from right side, and 0.025 from back. No burning marks. Apparently from same mould as MF 8586, MF 8587, MF 11149, MF 1977 44. Crowning moulding: cyma reversa (H. 0.020-0.022), fascia (H. 0.009-0.013).
Decoration:   Horse and rider type. On right panel horse's head in relief survives at upper left, facing left. Bridle and eye in red, mane in black. On front panel part of horse's head and head of rider survive near top. Horse's eye, bridle and mane and rider's hair painted black. Rider's face red. Darts of moulding painted black, and centers of leaves red with reserved ridges. Soffit of fascia painted black. Red stripes painted across top of fascia and around edge of top.
Material:   Pale buff clay with numerous reddish brown and brown inclusions. Moderately thin slip.
Munsell Color:   10YR 8/4
Condition:   Fragment. One fragment preserves most of upper portion, with part of back, parts of right and front panels (with relief decoration), crowning moulding (complete profile), and three-quarters of top (with recessed ring). Interior surface preserved.
