Description:   Left hand and wrist of statuette of Asklepios: arm reaching forward and holding staff, likely made of other material. Wrist bends slightly inward and fingers curve around cylindrical hole (D 0.004) drilled through hand for staff. Fingers partly separated from each other by narrow drill channel, rectangular, blunt fingernails outlined with chisel. Palm cup back somewhat crudely from base of thumb; 2 incised lines on inside of wrist. Back of arm and hand smooth, whole polished. Found with S-2000-4 (Stirling 2008, Hesperia 77:1, no. 7h) but smaller in scale; hand larger than S-1999-20 and S-1999-8 but smaller than S-1999-7.
Material:   Moderately fine-crystalled white marble.
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., lower part of left forearm and hand; missing thumb, index finger, most of surface of 3rd finger. Surface around thumb blackened. Joins S-1999-22.
